Multi-loop controllers are generally mounted behind the panel and programmed using a proprietary software program on a PC which downloads settings to the multi-loop temperature controller.
Using a multi-loop controller rather than multiple single loop controllers can have many benefits such as reduced installation costs due to having one common connection point, resulting in less wiring and minimizing panel cut outs. Another advantage is controllers can be changed without powering down the system. This process, known as hot-swapping, significantly reduces machine downtime.
